its nice, but costs way too much. $5K is the most I would pay for it.

Yea I think it's a little high. Are there any others on ebay that interest you? 229,000 isn't alot on a lexus, oppose to other manufactures.

There are many LS cars for sale on Ebay and elsewhere that appeal to me. I just wanted to see what a high mileage LS would look like...how well it holds up, physically speaking. My biggest issue is the exterior color. I'm not sure which color I want. The other issue is that I don't like the interior colors of the cars I've seen. I may end up looking for a black on black car to solve my complexity.

A Lexus with high mileage...that's impossible! I know a few people whoe have the 2nd Generation Ls400 and have well over 500,000 miles on them...still run great too. So I think you could keep this car for ten years and still be putting miles on it. So disregaurd the mileage unless you can notice something wrong with the car.

My high mile LS is exceptionally reliable. I bought my '95 with 224k miles, and now at 256.5k miles, not a single non maintinance repair in over 30k miles. I wouldn't do black if you are going for a high mile car. Mine is black, and the paint is dismal at best. For the most part, owners don't maintain the black paint enough, and it chips/pits/oxidizes/etc. I think all of the other colors have a clearcoat, so they won't have the same problems as black onyx.

Excellent advice! The test drive is all we went on for our LS. It had no service records, but it drove(and still drives) excellently.

That looks like it is in great condition, I saw one ding behind the rear passenger door. The interior looks nice too. That is unbelievable for the mileage and the year!
