Using gas and injector cleaners dirties the oil but changing it not only keeps your engine clean it runs much better in my opinion.

How often should you do the injector cleaner? Right before you change the oil?

I always do the injuector cleaner once right before an oil change and once in the mid 1500 mile range that way you know you got the gunk out with the oil change. The cleaner will deposit some of the carbon into your oil and some through the exhaust. I know it helps my tacoma runs like new and it has 190k miles.

well i would change it every 3,000 miles if i liked to use the engine (if you know what i mean)... but if you don't really drive it fast, then maybe 4,000 to 6,000 miles depending on the oil you use.
