Sluggish cranking
Hi guys I recently got a 92 LS and from day one it would crank slowly but always start. I just figured it was the battery but on occasion it cranks normal(fast) like its supposed to. So I replaced the battery yesterday with a 27R AC Delco battery and same thing. Anyone have any ideas what it could be? I hope not the starter lol........thats gonna be fun to change.

I would check the ground on the starter motor, if the grounds look clean on it, then maybe its time to change the starter motor. If it had anything to do with the internals on the motor I think it probably woundt drive at all, and if it was the batt it would be pretty consistent.
Check the starter, then replace it

Thats what I was afraid of lol. That starter must be a pain to change. Anyone have any experience changing one of these? How hard was it to do?

You might just have corroded terminals. Sometimes it's not apparent, so check the battery cables themselves. Sometimes the corrosion follows the cable down. If you don't have a good connection, your starter may not have enough amperage for cranking.
