well please can I have some thoughts
I have a 94 jap spec celsior on air suspension ...what wheel / tyre configuration can I go for if I want to live with the car on a daily basis ??
That includes being fully ladened as well given that I have no springs /shocks to uprate.
Suggestions so far include
18 x 8.5 on 245/45 tyres all round or 18 x 9.5 on the rears
17 x8 all round on 225/55 s
My main worry is that I need a ride I can live with knowing the air suspension will keep the tyres in check re rubbing on body etc.
please feedback and tell me what life is like with your wheel tyre combination and do you regret going too big or staying too small....
we all know big looks cool but its okay if you go springs/shock route as there are bumpstops and the like to keep things in check....how does the air suspension cope ??

Well Yin I have 18x7.5 with 235/40 tires, the tires are a bit thin but it is still liviable as a daily driven.
Yes 18x8.5 is okay all aorund, but 18x9.5 for the rear might be to wide causing rubbing in my opinion, but i would go with the same size all around, because it is a easier job for tire rotations.
For 17x8 all with 225/55's i would go i size up on those.
Those sizes are just fine i would not know of them rubbing against the body in any way.
18's are still a bit small for the monsterious LS/Celsior.
because they have enourmous wheel fenders.
My 18's look like 15's from a distance and i still have a 2 to 3 inch. wheel gap. So i would get at least 19's.
I do not think the air susp. would cause any trouble with larger rims and tires, they would just do fine against bumps on the road as long as you drive normally and not like a 4x4 when you hit them.
If you are planning on lowering your car with the air susp. I thnk it is impossible unless you remove the whole entire air susp. see the thread (Drop it like its hot)
a little bit down further in the LS forum.
Other people such as Loule might have more info for you on rims and tire sizes.Let's just see if he see's this thread.

Who you think gave him the first suggestion?!
Like I mention to you in the email, the rear can handle 18x9.5 because the wells are a little wider.
I you are really afraid of bad roads messing with your wheels then I reccomend just going with 18.
Anything larger will definitly dent if you hit a large bump.
I have 245-45-18 and they are thick enough to fill the wells and handle the bumps, but yet thin enough to look great.
In my mind they are perfect for the car.
I'll post some pics of my setup later on so people can see.
