At the time my money was coming from a company I started that sold model masks based off of a sci-fi game. The margins were ridiculous but the market was limited. I had a choice to get a MkIV but I couldn't pull the trigger on buying one, I ended up getting the 4-door MkIV (an IS300) and was happy with it but it was way to slow and VIP culture went from a novel idea to ideals that reflected my lifestyle and the IS was not cut out for VIP and I realized that I could have more fun in a car creeping then one going a hundred miles per hour.

Then I was unsure if I wanted a LS430, LS400, or GS400/430... then I saw this picture:

That picture was stuck in my head for 3 days. My ex girlfriend needed help buying a car and I suggested the place where I had gotten my GS 2 and a half years ago. We went there and as I was looking around at what they had (they get all the lexus's that can't be CPO anymore) and I saw a Black on Grey LS400 and I looked at it and sure enough the windows really were that clear, and the interior was tan... 77,000 miles.... ... could this be?? I went home and asked my dad if his friend would help get me a trade (he used to sell cars, hes a really cool guy) They wanted $4,300 and my IS (yea they were serious!) 2 days later I drove my IS there and drove the LS back I love my LS it exceeded all expecations I had and continues to suprize me with new cool functions! I think the 20/21 is the best LS they made, I feel like its the least know of the LS's but looks the best!

wow man., i couldnt choose between the LS and the supra so ended up having both. i agree with you on the UCF20/21 being the best, because the LS430 has more of a older man image and the 1st gen is nice but not nice enough!!

Currently Own:

1996 LS 400 (current daily driver. Just purchased)
2005 Toyota Sienna (wife's daily driver. Purchased a year ago)
1987 BMW 535i (a great driving car, but a money pit. Has 163k miles)
1998 Nissan Maxima (a great driving car and very reliable. Has 175K miles)

Previously owned Cars:

1995 Mercury Villager ( a solid citizen. Very reliable)
1989 Volvo 740 Turbo (a fast car, not as reliable however)
1985 MB 190E (a money pit)
1982 Honda Accord (couldn't kill this car. Had for 12 years)
1983 Nissan Sentra diesel ( a solid citizen. very reliable)

I'll post my cars.. why not?

1. 1989 Ford Escort Pony... Underpowered but a fun little gas sipper. just stopped driving it for...
2. 1993 Cadillac STS. My family had it for about a year. I drove it for 2 months and wrecked it. God I loved that car. Too fast for a 16 year old though.
3. 1996 Honda Civic LX 4d 5-speed. I loved this car too. Got a great deal, drove it for two 3 months and sold it for a profit. I wish i kept it. (I as in my dad)
4. 1994 Nissan Altima. I'm realizing that i love all my cars. Drove it for a year. Great gas mileage. Never changed the oil once. Poor thing. Was sideswiped by a caprice.
5. 1995 Buick Lesabre. My dad bought it at an auction for 300 bucks. Still runs good but had a brake problem that we never fixed.
6. 1992 Mercury Grand Marquis. Another car my dad bought at an auction. Drove it around for about a year. Was never really mine, but i drove it all the time. Still runs great. A very solid (but boatlike) car.
7. 93 LS400. My dream car. Found it on ebay. Drove to chicago to get it. Needs minor things but still runs well. LOVE IT.

Default previos cars

Current:
'94 ls400 216k jade & tan still going strong!
'00 ls400 97k beautiful black on black

My first car ever was a '67 T-bird I got back in '78. It had one of the smoothest ride and it came with suicide doors. I don't remember the milage but I think i paid around 500 bucks for it. It had a powerful engin but the steering on it was horrible. It was a great car until I crashed it about a year later. Boy, did I love that car! Still kinda miss it...
One of the worst cars I ever had was the '89 Buick Regal GS. It looked good but always gave me break trouble and starting problems. Biggest piece of junk I ever owned. That's when I started losing faith in GM. Never gonna buy their cars again! I still remember GM's logo used to say "Mark Of Excellence". What a crock! They shoulda used "Mark Of Excrement" instead! Even GM realized how bad their cars were and decided to drop it from their logo awhile ago....

"Mark of Excrement" for GM cars......very funny! They haven't used that "mark of excellence" moniker for awhile here. The absolute best car I've ever had is the car I'm driving currently; a 1996 LS 400. My Maxima is also high on the list. Although it's not in the same league as the LS, that Maxima is an excellent vehicle with good power delivery while being miserly on the fuel at the same time. The LS is good in the mpg department in a similar fashion.

The worst car was my Chevy Nova from a quality standpoint. My bimmer was the most expensive car from a repair standpoint that I've ever had. Tires alone for that car (metric rims) are $ 200+ a shot. I don't drive it now, because I refuse to pay that and will opt to change the rims instead. With the bimmer, there was something going on every month from a repair standpoint. Funny though--I never had to do anything to the engine--it was everything else (trans, cat, tires, driveshaft and etc). When it was running though, it was fun to drive.

I always wanted to get an Integra, but I don't know if I see one in my future at this point. I'm pretty much going to be a lexus buyer from here on out

1992 Lexus LS400 - absolute dream car. Bought in late 2004. Have wanted one since introduction in 1989. Runs like a dream, needs a little more work though,, have been very satisfied with this car.
1984 Nissan 300 ZX[Anniversary Edition]- bought in early 2004. Paid $1000 for it, body was in excellent condition and everything was all original. Had 60K on the odometer{carfax confirmed},, Original owner never changed a thing. Originall water pump spark plugs, belts, etc,,Loaned it to a friend to use while I was truck driving and car needed repair. Was eventually towed by city as abandoned vehicle after my "friend" pulled the tags off and stuck them onto something else, after car broke down. Was later auctionerd off. Had been on road for something like 9 weeks and found out what happened after I got home.
1988 Nissan Maxima Wagon- a beater car I took from a co-worker to get back and forth to work. Paid $200 for it and literally drove the wheels off of it after the suspension broke loose, while I was doing 65 on the beltway. Thank God no one was hurt. Coincidence was, the same night it broke,, I had made a deal to trade it in on a Dodge Intrepid SRT, the next morning. Never made the trade and used down payment money to pay the people whose cars were damaged as result of accident.
1987 Volvo 740 GLE [5 speed]- had this and Maxima at same time. Paid $600 for it and the transmission went out on me. was gonna cost $3500 to fix, and b/c Volvo only made like 4500 of these cars in 5 speed no junkyard rebuildables were available. Just my luck that the engine would not mount up to any other 5 speeds in their line. Car was donated to Goodwill.
1997 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer- God I loved this SUV. Bought in 2000. Was a rare find b/c it was 2 wheel drive without the third row seats,,had air suspension,, and load level. Apparently this combination was just not done in 2wd versions and dealers would go crazy over it when I brought it in for service. Eventually told Ford to come and get it after sustaining a back injury and not being able to work for 6 months. Was self employed at time, so no workers comp.
1992 Toyota Camry- Amazing car, my road dawg!! Bought in '95. This car had 596K on the odometer when I traded it for the Expedition. Was commuting over 120 miles each way to work, 6 days a week. Was on it's second engine and original transmission. This car just would not die. First engine died as a result of knocking a hole in the oil pan in construction area, and and throwing a rod clean thru the hood of the car.
1991 Toyota Camry- My independence statement!!! Bought in '93. Great first Car. Traded it in on the 92.
