I like the look of the Gen1-2 rear window though without the split it gives us a window that goes down 2/3'rds and is tilted.

As for the look...to each their own. To me, it rounds the package out if the wheel gap is reduced by lowering it. Once you start modding, it alters the whole ride quality so one leads to another to compensate.

When I had the stock wheels, after lowering I could feel the tire roll over on a corner. Turn-in I felt could be crisper and the 18's proved that. Now I got a different ride quality...that's okay...I'll take the improved handling. Still rides nice though not like it did when it was untouched. YMMV

I like how in our models, the back wondows go down at a different angle. It's different, but in a good way.

I actually like that aspect as well. Rear passengers get a much bigger/better window/view then usual.

It makes it more exclusive, as nobody else offered it. Now the exclusivity is gone with the current LS. Not only does the split window allow the entire window to come down, but it allows for a longer door in the rear, a LWB, and more legroom in the rear.

Its funny that I hijacked my own thread to turn it into a "back window" thread. haha. Anyways, I didnt' realize the new model had a split window, I suppose there are benifits to both. I'd personally rather have the exclusivety of a long one piece rear window, since it looks better with the windows up and I hardly ever have passengers back there and when I do they never roll down the windows more than a crack if at all. That's what A/C's for.

Is there anything else that is subjectively better on the older generation LS' compared to the new? The only thing I can think of is the embelems...I really dislike how the new ones have "weld-marks" in between each letter, I wish that Lexus would either revert back to the smooth flowing connections or space them out completely like MB does.

If ride quality is a concern why go with 20" that will be the most detrimental to your "ride quality" as the low profile tire wall will not flex as much as the stock tire will giving you more "road feel" But ok you don't want to lower it, at least put some skirts on, your ride does look a little "off roadish"

Skitrts won't help much since the problem is "wheel gap". I think good quality spring such as H&R or Eibach (keep stock shock)will do the job, both is progressive rate and won't worst the ride quaility much.

No need to slam it to the ground, but just to get rid of the ugly wheels gap.

Default my 2 cents

I hate to say this but your rims belong on a late 90's Altima or any year Integra.
They look bunk on a Lex.
They could even go on a VW Corrado.

It is not a sports car.

my 2 cents.

I'd laugh if I drove by you in my Stock Silver 92

And I'm not starting beef.

Oh and I love my tilted windows.

p.s. this is a forum so take it nicely.

lorenzo816, first off, I have no idea what a 90's Altima or VW corrado looks like, and secondly, if these rims belong on anything, it would be an E-Class or S-Class Benz. The rims are Brabus replicas.

With the screen name Lorenzo, you would think he'd know Brabus right? Since they are both Mercedes tuners.

Those are Monoblock replicas, they cost about $6200 for the package for the real ones, I dont think any civic or late 90's Altima owner be able to afford them.

your pic is not even close to what thoose wheels look like. He wasn't refering to Lorenzo wheels, he was refering to Lorinser for MB (similar to Brabus) thoose wheels are very good looking knock offs
