For awhile, we hooked up 2 jlw-3 + a performance tekniq amp (bridged) to the 1993 stock amp.

We used a high to low converter for the conversion. WE attached this to the previous stock sub for the lexus.

Problem is: whenever we turn off the sound system AND/OR shut off the engine, the subs "pop." I figure it has to do something with the power to the amp...but I don't know where to isolate the problem.

thanks a bunch guys

I had this prob,a while ago.When i first installed my JL's.

I took it to an audio shop and they said it could be because the head unit is stock or the ground is located in a bad place, but they solved the problem by making a kill switch for the amp.

I would just use the swtich to kill the power to the amp and then turn off power to the head unit.
