I did not try paint remover. My buddy in a paint shop recomended (MEK Methol Ethol Keytone) and it worked ok just took forever and a lot of rubbing. Its what he uses to prep a car before prime and paint. It did not pit or damage chrome! Have not pollished chrome yet crappy weather today will park it in my shop and try to do it tomorrow will post results and use a better camera!

You are right about the fiberglass industry using it But.... "MEK is essentially equivalent to Acetone in power, but is less soluable in water and evaporates slower. It is a strong fast acting solvent, cleaner and remover for inks, resins, adhesives, and contact cement."source

I just used a rag to wipe it on and let it sit for a minute then used a blade to get access off because it jelled up and became super tacky . MEK might not be the perfect application for this job but it worked for me. Plus the fact that it was 40 degrees in the shop i do not have a heater in there may have played a big factor it states on the can should be used in 80 degree enviroment. I did not tape anything becaues that stuff cleaned the rubber around the window jam also i was just careful and took my time
