Optima Red Top Battery
Does anyone know the model number of the Optima Red Top battery that will fit in a 1998 LS400. The OEM battery is size 24F, and I know the Opitma is not exactly that size
Thanks for any info

I have an optima yellow series in my LS and I've only had a problem with it 1 time. Even with it just sitting in unsecure it hardly moves at all. The one time I did have a problem with it was when I hit a pothole doing about 45mph and my driver's side front tire smack into the wheel well pretty hard, which caused the positive battery terminal to come off. As long as you don't drive like your in the indy 500 it should be ok.

I have an Optima yellow top in my 98 LS400. It was a bit of a stretch to fit but it did go in and is secure.
Will try to step out and post some pics tomorrow.

I don't recall 100% (can confirm tmw when I take pics if I remember) but pretty sure I have the 34/78. It's one I pulled out of my GS when I was having the alternator swapped.
Much smaller than the OEM battery.

I have an RX300 and I use the 34/78 Red Top.
Incidentally, when I was at the Lexus dealer in San Antonio last year and wanted to change to an Optima they had an LS400 where they had just installed an Optima and it was also a 34/78 Red Top.

i have an optima yellow top 34 and it fits as i installed it last night in 6 minutes.
I borrowed a battery cover from a red top optima at walmart ( since i bought it there 3 months ago and it was missing it) . It is removed from the top of the battery and placed under the battery to adjust it for the height difference. If you do not use the tray/height adapter then the wires will fit just fine.
If you use the tray to make the battery stock height to make use of the battery tie down properly ,then the + terminal will need to be bent slightly to adjust to the batteries posts being more forward than the stock batteries.
