Where can I get a K&N air filter kit for my 99 LS400. I saw a site once that had it for the 98-00 models but I forgot what it was. Something like truckperformance.net or something. Can anybody help?

Jason,
Stick with the stock filter. The K&N for our application actually has less surface area and IMO is probably less efficient. Instead, do my high flow airbox mod, you will love it.
Sure thing, Do you think that I should keep the stock filter, or buy a K&N filter in addition to your airbox mod?
Stock. The K&N for OUR application (all LS400s) has a flat plastic panel in the center with the filter around it. The stock has more surface area and should be superior in filtering. Just create a large plenum of cold air in front of the modified airbox by removing the headlight to frame seal and insulating the area from hot underhood air.
just checking in to see if anybody knows of a manufacterer that makes a intake system for our 98-00 LS400's yet.....its been some time since i last inquired. thnx

I do not think so. It would have to be a custom made one. You just have to have the time to make them. If you think about it, you would only be using metal or platic tubing, some sort of rubber gasket, Clamps, and also the MAF after the filter.
Hey guys...I'm new to the forum but did a short ram style mod. I went to pep boys in anaheim hills and they had an adapter made of aluminum that bolts up to the old part that the original air filter housing went to. I just had to drill some new holes in the aluminum adapter plate. I bolted the plate on then a large cone filter that is washable. Seems to work better.
