Need advice on tire size for 98 LS400
#16
I guess I am ready to get the wheel/tire for my car after a couple of weeks of research. I didn't get the LS430 wheels but that is ok since it is only a 17" rim. I decided to stick with the 18" rather than 19" because I drive my car everyday and don't want the rougher ride and bigger chance of damaging the wheels with the 19/20". I also decided on the 245/45-18 tire size as it is closest to the stock 16" as far as overall diameter and rev/mile.
For the tire, I am getting the Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 which is OEM on the new 2002 Infiniti Q45 18" sport upgrade wheels. I figure that this is quiet and a good substitute for the original Bridgestone Turanzas I have.
Now for the wheels, I am getting the OZ Operas but I have to choose between these 2 styles. What do you guys think?

I forgot to say that the one on the right is a 2 piece and I might be able to get local for less than $300 (clearance price MSRP $500+) while the other one is a 1 piece monoblock for about $350. I know some of you guys don't want to consider the price but the practical side in me always want to put this in the equation when making a decision.

Neomatrix it is up to you,but I like the bottom picture better the one with the Rivets on it.
Are you located in Southern California,if you are you should come to our meets becuase I always wanted to see a LS with OZ operas.I would love to see one in person.

I like both (relatively)...but if you can get the 2-piece ones for $50 less than the 1-piece, that's a no brainer. The nice thing about the 2-piece is that the lips are little polished (compared to the painted centers) which gives a nice contrasting lip.
But since they are clearence, make sure you get the right width, bolt pattern, and offset. Don't just get anything hoping you'll be able to get them to work! I'd rather pay more and the get the RIGHT ones...
