i was wondering what i should be careful for when taking off the front door panels. i need to get to the speakers and sound deaden the doors. thanks in advance guys

Actually there is nothing to it. There are 2 screws around the middle of the door (1 is under the wooden part), 1 is closer to a dashboard inside the ventelation hole, another one is on the other side of the door (it holds a little plastic piece in place), last set of the screws is at the very bottom of the door (4 of them).

I have just finished with soundproofing my doors and changing the speaker size to 6.5. I'll have all the pics in a couple of days if you want.

how hard is it to convert the speaker to a 6 1/2?

Actually it is pretty hard as long as you do not know ehat you are doing. There is a plastic enclosyre for a 4" speaker inside the door panel. The best way is to cut the top of that enclosure off, cut out the top out of MDF board and make a desired size hole there. Use a lil dynomat extreeme (I used a better alternative) and screws to fit the MDF on top of the plastic.

i'll hopefully have my focal utopia mid basses in the doors by this saturday (gotta love what fiberglass can do)
