removal of console lid

Does anyone know how to remove the lid of the gen 1 LS centre console?

I need to remove it so it can be retrimmed in leather.

Just pry it off from the 6oclock position with a double taped flat screw driver. Its pressure held (might have to take off the shifter in the first gens first).

I am referring to the padded arm rest lid that opens for CD storage etc.

How does the thing come off?
