My LS is pearl white, but i wanna know what type looks good.I want something that thick so nobody can see the inside of my car.

I wanna go with Limo on the back and medium in the front, silver,or the type that is like silver, but you can only see thru it at certain angles.

What do yo guys think?

I need privacy

edogg,

Be sure your tint darkness meets your State requirements. I know here in NC that the cops will stop you and ticket you for tint that is too dark. Our limit is is something like 30%, any more than that and they will make you take it off by sending you to court, refusing to renew your vehicle registration, deny an emissions/safety inspection, also license tag and possibly jail for contempt if you do not follow the courts orders and remove it.

if you are good at spotting cops in your rear view mirrors, use the 5% all over like I do. Just open them side windows when you pass a cop.

Hey Retro, since you live in So.Cali which of these are llegal?
1.silver all around
2.the one with silver reflection, but can be seen thru at certain angles
3.Limo in the back and medium in the front

I want the best privacy, but I want it to be llegal as well.

to be legal is hard since in CA there is NO tint allowd on the front side windows. You can have any kind of tint on your backwindows though!

edog,

go for the medium front limo back setup. Imo that is the best compromise between legal/privacy, I have the same tint on my car and you can't not see throu the rear window what so ever and the front is about half see throu.

With black interior I can only make out the instrument panels and seats but not enough to see clearly when standing next to the window. And that is perfect for when someone pull up next to you they won't be able to see much. The cops won't bother you either because the front will look pretty light compared to the rear windows.

If you want more privacy go for dark/limo but it will look really really dark under certain conditions like rainy days or clouds blocking the sun. But the cops might not like it because it will look very dark all around and I know the cops hate that. I can send you a pic of my car if you want to see what it looks like.

Here is the pic I took at 15ft away. Depends on the light directions it will look darker or lighter. Direct sun in front of the car will make it look lighter and indirect light will make it darker.

I haven't got pulled over once in my 7 years of driving. My Es 300 has the same tint too and cops pass by me all the time, but it's much lighter because the interior is beige. Also tints tends to fade a little after a while so it's not really a problem. That pic was taken with the sun directly on top at 1:00 pm. so the light was indirect.

Tint cost $180 with tax, but I wouldn't recommand that tint shop because they scratched my fuel door. That POS shop is called The Tint Man at Valley blvd. I am at Rowland/Diamond Bar.

I am gonna miss the meet tomorrow, because I am going to Indian gambling land at Palm Springs. Going to The Spa Casino & Hotel and then Morongo casino when I head back. Hopefully I will come back with enough loot for a set of Dynaudios.

Police has implemented "no tint" policy since some dood shot a policeman from behind a front limo window. I guess I know too much about rules on daily drivers from my experence with police.

edogg...come over dood! if you are in Irvine me and my friend can pick you up.

edogg, no doubt man, I've seen a few fixed up Ls400's around Walnut/West Co. But all the times I was going the opposite direction and I didn't get a good look. There are tons of Lexus and MB driving around here too, seems almost like a geographical thing. Soon LA will be know as the city of Lex and MB's.

Yup, will do.
