Default Heater Kaput!

My daughter and I got in the car the other morning, took off and the heater never came on! (I had it set on "AUTO") So I manually turned it on and the air was COLD> The blower works great, a/c seems to be okay.

The temp gauge does come up after awhile (to a little under half-way). However, when I got out of the car, the hood still is cool.

Hubby added water, it was a little low. That didn't Help. Now Lexie is parked waiting to go to the shop next week. Anybody have any ideas what is going on and $$ to fix????

Thanks!!

It should cost you $30 to replace the thermostat and $50 to flush the cooling system to get rid of that water that your hubby put there in his infinate wisdom. Water is corrosive. You must only use Toyota antifreeze - the red stuff.

Late reply, but still interested to know what your mechanic told you. I hope he didn't rip you off
