Unhappy foglights....

ok... i have a 1991 LS400... i need to replace my foglights... the manual says use H3... but when i go to the store it doesnt look like the right bulbs.... PLEEEEEEEASE help me!!!

OK, I had this same problem a few years ago. The correct bulb type is H3C, not H3. I got a pair of xenon H3C's from ebay for $22. You can also convert the regular H3's so they fit the foglight housing. Try asking in the LS forums if you need to know how to do that.

I actually changed mine (93 LS400) and he bulbs were H3c. I didn't need to do the conversion, just plug and play.

the conversion is if you want to switch over to H3.

I changed over to the H3 bulbs, because its easier to find than the H3C.

Pretty simple to do.

Gotta give thanks to Lexls for the tutorial.

any difference in brightness of bulbs b/w the two? i recently replaced mine with h3c bulbs. got them off ebay.

Not really.

It was more of a convenience than anything else. I didnt want to go to the dealer everytime I needed my foglight bulbs replaced so I did the conversion. Thats it.

i bought the bluest h3 bulbs off ebay,and cracked the yellow fog glass.do you think i should also cut the meatal that the yellow for glass was in,cause i notice a dark spot right over the bulbs.do you think it would be brighter???

H3 bulbs also come in 100watt bulbs.......................

i switched to H3's. one of the H3C's seemed to burn out once a month. The regular H3's have never gone out once. goin on probably 6 months
