Default 1st gen LS shakes when I apply the brakes

I have changed the upper control arms twice on the drivers side(this is where the shaking is heard)I feel the brake pedal and the steering shaking when I apply the breaks.I even had the rotors resurfaced and changed the pads.I even tried to apply very slight brake pressure where the nose of the car wouldn't dip to affect the suspension I still felt pulsation. This is telling me that the problem is brake related.Caliper..........etc???????
My mechaic said both control arms are not shaking.

Go with some new front rotors. Having them turned will do for awhile but the metal the was once warped/heated will still be affected under high heat conditions, and they'll warp again.

You got warped rotors. Turning rotors does not get rid of the warpage.

This problem started even before they resurfaced the rotors and the problem was still there.Warped rotors even after it's been resurfaced on a 5 month old rotor?I will really find out by saturday.

Let us know what the outcome is. I vote for warped rotors.

I am assuming that you have a 90-92 LS400. If you do, this was noted as a problem in this model. The early LS400's had rotors that were too thin, and when they heated up, they warped. In 93 they came out with a better rotor. You may want to contact the dealer and see if the newer rotor fits the car. I vaguely remember that Lexus did something to address this problem, i.e. retrofit of an ugraded rotor, but I may be wrong.

If possible let us know the brand of rotors you originally bought from carparts.com. Also please let us know the year of your Lexus. Good luck!

Default I think it was the Beck/ Arnley!

Could my rotors be already gone within five months or just warped again?
I hate to keep changing these pads whenever they cut the rotors.

I think the rotors just keep warping with use. I dont know what your driving habits are, but five months with new rotors just does not seem right, unless you drive like a soccer Mom. Also you mention that you have a 90 Ls. They might just be giving you the thinner rotors because that is what they had in 1990. Obviously you want the thicker one. I dont think you necessarily have to change your pads if there is sufficient thickness remaining. Just realize if you get talked into resurfacing the rotors, that might not fix the problem depending on the amount of offset due to the warpage. If turning the rotors does fix the problem it will probably only be temporary and they will warp again. I think you need to get a new set of rotors and go from there. You might try a junkyard and get rotors from a 93 or 94 if you want to save some money.

Default somone needs to use the micro...........

i guess they call it the micronmeter to measure the thickness of the rotor. He now needs to use this equipoment and then check the warpage. This will give me an idea of what i need. This is a new shop and has no cutting machine!
quite informative!
Thanks!
