Before I shout at my dealer - can you guys help - parking brake failure !!!
Hi Guys,
I just had my disks and pads replaced all round on my car (by a LEXUS main dealer) and am now noticing that when I have the hand brake / foot brake / parking brake (whatever you prefer to call it ) fully on and the gear in N neutral with the engine running, that the car will still roll backwards on a slight incline even!
Is this normal or have the parts been fitted incorrectly of badly adjusted. I have never owned an auto before and so am still just feeling my way around. So before I call me service manager and give him some grief I really would like to know if I am expecting the same operation from my LS400 as my other manual cars. Of course when the gear is in P Park the car does not shift !
I hope you can help before I probably make a fool of myself.
Many thanks.
Lightyear.

Your disc brakes have nothing to do with your parking brake system. The parking brake is controlled via small brake shoes inside the rear disc.Yes take your car back and tell them to adjust your parking brake. This should have been done when they replaced the rear rotors, this is part of the job your car should not have left the shop without this being done.
