91 with 53K!!!! Man that is a steal. I probably would go through and hit the regular maintenance items, oil, antifreeze, check p/s fluid, tranny fluid, etc. Make sure your belts and hoses are in good shape. Get yourself ready to have the 60K service done to it is prescribed in your owners manual and then after that enjoy.

I just got a '90 LS with 60K on it and am thinking of the same. Assuming all fluids have been recently replaced, brake pads good, air filter new, etc etc, is there really a need for the dealer 60K service? The only things I can really think of that need changing as per the manual are the spark plugs... right?

you can probably go longer, the answer I gave was in the instance that you have no idea what the previous owner did and when. Safe bet though,,,, never assume these things were done. I would rather know these things were done, especially if you're not familiar with the previous owners maintenance experience, rather than find out later that things were not done at all. 1 ounce of assumption now will cost you many dollars in corrections later,, especially if you dont know the history of the car.

Does seem to have been a bunch of low mileage 400's popping up around here lately.

Trukn1, "Ecsta" is pretty much every tire in the Kumho line. What do you have and how do you like them?

It is surprising to come across a low mileage 16 year old car... but i guess there are quite a few old grannies who drive about 5 miles a week!
