Default 1997 Ls 400 Transmission Question

WHATS UP GUYS, COOL FORUMS

I HAVE A QUESTION ON MY LEXUS, I THINK THE TRANS IS ABOUT TO GO OUT, HAVE ANY OF YOU ENCOUNTERED THIS PROBLEM?,,,, when car is cold, you take off and as soon as second gear is going to go in, it seems like it jumps all the way to over drive instead of going 1,2,3,od and when coming to a stop, it stays stuck in last gear and car shakes until it goes back to 1st again....

what can i do, should i change trans fluid, or is it read for a repair??

let me know what you think....

thanks

id flush the trans fluid and reset the ecu first before i go and even think about any mech. problems. make sure to use genuine Toyota T-IV trans fluid and not dexron or the like.

Might be a sensor related issue.

Hey PD, I think its okay to use aftermarket oil as long as its type 4. I have and it works fine.

It probably wasn't the transmission to begin with. These cars have a stellar engine and transmission.

But, either way. Are you getting any CEL's?
