I have to agree with pure drifter.
Once the factory sub is removed and a good set up is used it can sound great. I have more bass than i ever wanted with my JL audio 500/1 and 10w7 in a J.L. H.O. box

I was unaware that free air had any advantage other than saving trunk space. It is rather inefficient and very sloppy for band reproduction since it has no vacuum to overcome for cone stability and SPL needs ports to allow the cone to flow for wide excursion?

www.lexls.com has a tut on replacing a sub and using it with the OEM amp.
not entirely sure how many watts goes to the Nak sub in our cars but i think its around 60w RMS @ 4ohms. remember, too LITTLE power is just as bad for a sub s too much.
i remember reading an article months ago on the benefits of free-air enclosures but il hafta go and hunt for it
