Coilover noise, anyway to keep it quiet??
I know coil overs are noisy. But is there any product out there to keep them quiet? Running over bumps on my advox I can hear clunking noise. It does get annoying in a quiet cabin like the LS. The alignment tech after driving my car said "it's a good car, except for that aftermarket suspension crap that keep making noise...".
Does anyone with Blisteins and eibach spring have any noise on their cars?

I have Bilsteins - every now and then the clunking noise is audible. Some say it's bushings (control arms) or ball joint(s). I took it to the mechanic and all of those possible causes were not worn out in my case. So far I am just living with the occasional clunk since nobody knows what it is

I have a clunk from my left front wheel after installing Tokico struts. Its the only strut that I didn't compress the spring myself. I had that one compressed at Wheel works (the others were compressed by them but not aligned properly, so I ended up learning how to do it and compressing them myself anyways.. waste of $50)
The clunk only happens when I take hard right turns, or if I jack up the car. So I know it is related to the way the spring is sitting on the strut. I've just been too lazy to fix it. I'd have to take the strut out and recompress the spring and then realign it.. PITA.

I had the L-sportline setup (Eibach / Blistein) and just went back to OEM partially because the clunking noise annoyed me and partially because of the harsh ride.
There are two things you can do... an insulator or put some hosing around the springs. This thread covers both.

Yep, sure will be. Got 'em sitting in the garage - need to research selling price.

I know they're supposedly adjustable, but I just had them installed at the medium setting and the car was still pretty low, especially in the back.
I never adjusted them once installed so can't speak to it, but I seem to recall there were three adjustment points. A coilover setup is going to give you a whole lot more flexibility in up & down 'clicks'.

I'd strongly suggest the adjustable SF-1 or CS. I've about had it with the uneveness of the spring strut combo on mine...it's liveable but it wears on me. That 3/8 gap in the right rear is

I only get the clunk noise when I have my JIC's cranked all the way to the lowest setting, which I dont recommend doing. But looks soooper dooper ...

he has the UCF21 with the Q45 gatling gun headlights and 20s right? nice car that is.
my only thing right now is that the FLT-A2s are what JIC sells but are between 1800-2000, the NEW CS is about 1200 but nobody has it for the LS4 yet, and the SF-1s are kinda on my mind because its about $250-300 to rebuild them since il HAVE to buy them used.
thoughts? opinions? anything?

Sorry to the original poster...about the noise issues.
Anyway...if the SF-1's are available (Vince's?), and you don't want to wait for the CS, have them rebuilt. The shop is local (Downy I believe) so turn-around shouldn't be bad if it doesn't require a part to be shipped from Japan.
Have you contacted Steve at Carson about the CS for ours?

i talked to Luis and he said theyv had them on order since the new CS first came out but no ETA yet.
i wouldnt mind the SF-1s but again, im looking at 250+ for each corner just in PARTS! thats over $1000 just in a REBUILD and not including the price of the coilovers. at that point im better off finding a set of new FLT-A2's.
im prolly gunna end up buying used coilovers but have this fear that once i get them, il have them for a month, then a shock will blow or something :/
