1991 LS 400 radio system is a mystery!
Recently, I purchased a 1991 LS400. I have addressed the mechanical and body work needs, but am stumped by the dysfunctional stero system. It has a Nakamici with a 6-disc cd changer in the trunk. The subwoofer works. The four door speakers do not work.
An audio tech suggested via phone that the problem likely is the amp. He recommends that i bypass the amp and replace the radio altogether.
My questions are numerous:
Where is the amp?
What model is this radio?
Why is there no info in the owner's manual on this system?
Is it possible that the problem is a fuse or other simple issue?
I would appreciate any and all thoughts on this.

I had this problem. I was replacing my factory head unit with another because my tape deck didn't work. Everything was fine except for the tape deck. So i bought a replacement on ebay. Only the sub worked when i put the new one. I took the replacement apart and saw that the capacitors were blown. So i got another replacement from the same company (LKQ). They sent me a Nak,(i have pioneer) so i got another replacement and voila!
I have an extra Nak my dad bought for me earlier from a junkyard(non returnable) so if you need it pm me. I think this might be your problem. Hope this helps!
