94 LS400 LED brake/tail light replacement?
I am interested in replacing the brake lights on my 94 LS400 with LEDs. I was looking at this site:
http://www.superbrightleds.com/tail-brake-turn.html
I tried searching but couldn't find anything--has anyone replaced these bulbs with LEDs and if so, which ones where successful?
Additionally, I know there is an issue with turn signals being replaced with LEDs, but has anyone done this?

before my car was wrecked and i was running the RCR tails i was planning on using 7443 RED LED reflectors (24led incl. side shooting) but never got around to it since the bulbs are ~$15 EACH! (and i needed like 4-6)

If you guys want LED specs, check here:

I think the Luxeon I and III will be overkill and then there are thermal issues for the constant on applications. These will run $5-$15 per depending on source and tpe of LED.

A 5mm emitter will be easier with less heat issues and lower cost.~$.50-$3. Easily purchased at most basic electronic places.
I've not pursued lighting mods but would like the crisper look of a LED high mount.

Okay, now that I have some free time I am going to start replacing my lights with LEDs. Does anyone know how many 921 bulbs are used in the high mount brake lights? Also are all the dome light bulbs 3175s?
Is there a list of the number of bulbs in the car for each area? Like x number of bulbs for the courtesy/step etc?

poor quality LEDs may burn out but not ones from proven sellers.
also, while it is true that a single LED in and of itself is dimmer than an equivalent light bulb, the majority of LED brake/turn lights are multi LED, with the basic principal being the more LED's the brighter the bulb. a 12-15 LED brake light is as bright as the equivalent size bulb but lights much quicker and lasts a LOT longer. also, some LED's which use bigger 1W SMD LEDs are actually MUCH BRIGHTER than stock bulbs.

Changed to clear front bumper lenses

After:
I am pretty happy with this small change...I don't think I will go with LEDs for the signal bulb because of all the complications (instead using chromed bulbs), but I will for the wedge parking light bulb. I should be getting all my LEDs soon...
More pictures to come after installing the red/white tail lights...and probably a carwash

The dome light bulb is 3175 (aka 3022) and the map lights are BA-9s.
Here's a list of the number of bulbs you'll need off the top of my head:
4 BA-9s for the map lights (front and rear)
1 3175 for the dome light
6 168/194 wedge bulbs for the courtesy lights (4 for the doors and 2 for the rear)
2 #74 bulbs for the footwells

From my experience, LED turn signals aren't as bright as regular bulbs during the day, but they're just barely bright enough if you go with amber LEDs.
These are the ones I'm using at the moment:
I wouldn't recommend LEDs for the brake lights unless you're doing a custom setup like the ones OLT and some of the SC members have made for their SC's.

High stop brake lights changed to LED
Sorry for the crappy quality (cameraphone). The brightness of these LEDs are not as great as I hoped, but I feel there is extra safety because of faster turn-on.
