i ran clear bumper lights on my old LS for a decent amount of time and my CHP buddy looked it over and said i shouldnt get any trouble as long as the light is orange.

I'm not much on lights but it has been a nagging easy mod...
My question are are the ones available truly DOT/SAE approved? Some sites state it is but I suspect not. If you have them, I'd be curious to see the molded stamp in the lens and whom you bought from. TIA. I'll buy a set if it has that imprint.
(I've had my time of equipment violations on prior cars...doing the drill now is a cause I know better.)

The crystal ones do reflect back the orange color because of the chrome inside and the orange bulb... I don't think you would ever get a ticket for them , as long as you use orange bulbs.

www.lextasy.com has them - I got them there. Would like orange bulbs though - can't find them locally.

I've been using polarg's (way back when) and hyper-white LEDs ever since I've had clear signals and haven't any problems whatsoever with police or CHP. I've been pulled over a couple times for no front plate/tints and also once at night for no reason at all...none of the officers commented on my lights being clear and having white bulbs in them. Maybe I've been lucky.
