I have been seeing this warning light come off and on again, I think its the low water level light. I have topped off the water reservoir with water, it already has coolant, but the light keeps going off and on, the car is not overheating becuse the temperature gauge is normal, however there is a strong smell, like when you take the radiator cap off, and at times I see a wet spot in front of the front drivers tire where a reservoir line ends.

What could be happening?

My car is a 1990 Ls400

 

the sensor breaks all the time. i just unplugged mine.
