Default What RPM does your car shift at?

I've noticed something odd about the LS.

Let's say I'm getting on the interstate and I am on the on-ramp. I'll push WOT to get up passed 2nd gear and some into third. Well it shifts into 2nd about 6,000 or more (this is normal), but then into thrid around 5,000? Is this just because the engine thinks thats the way I want to drive? I do alot of city driving, so I mean, I can't keep the ECU thinking that I want it to shift at higher RPMs when I want it to. BUT listen to this. I can be going 50 or so and floor it and it will shift right...anyone else have this problem?

Note: I never floor it before the first 10 minutes of operation, or until it's warmed up. That's just asking for issues.
