I just did this per the brake booster vaccum. What a blast? It looked like a bomb blew up. All the neighbors were looking and I had a cool smoke screen for about 5 minutes. Oh yeah the car does respond better. I also clean the throttle body before doing this.
Loads of fun but do it late at night and go up a quiet road like I did.

I bought a can of this new "Liquid Schwartz".

I used 1/3 of the can in my oil, 1/3 in the gas tank, and 1/3 in the vacuum line that comes off the front of my intake manifold (the one that used to plug into my idle up valve for the PS).

Did an oil change, stood around, enjoyed a root beer, and watch the wind blow the developing mushroom cloud from my exhaust.

Took it for a test drive. WOW. Smoother acceleration, idle, and the works. I will defintely use another can next oil change!!!

I have 159,000 miles on my LS400.

Just to be clear, how much Seafoam should be used in each spot? (fuel tank, engine oil and vaccum) Is 1/3 of a can in each the right amount or should more be used?

Also, would this provide any noticeable benefit on a car with 47k miles on it?

Unlikely you would get a lot of the fun smoke, unless your car has done a lot of idling in its life.

Question

I just changed the oil on my '90 LS (170,000 miles and going strong). Would it hurt to add a little seafoam without changing the oil right after?

Running seafoam in the oil will change the oil's chemical properties that protect the motor, be sure to change the oil otherwise it could have serious side effects.

Ever since I ran the seafoam through my fuel tank, crankcase, intake, and vacuum booster I've been getting ~18.5 mpg on my 93 LS with 65k miles.

i dont really understand how this works. So while the car is idling i pour 1/3 of the bottle into the oil fill? Drive for a 100 miles than change me oil....I have 200 000 miles is this still safe?

search in youtube for " how to seafoam " it is easy

BTW i did not notice any difference on my car after using seafoam, i have used 1/3 in fuel tank, 1/3 in engine oil, 1/3 in brake booster. Maybe because my car’s engine+ automatic transmission were already having few miles with it.

Seafoam is cheap and it worth a try, since many drivers have noticed differences on their rides.

Or reach over to the throttle body and hold throttle a little.
