Hey gang,

I apologize if there is already a thread on this....I'm new to this AWESOME site and haven't been very successful at finding one. Anyway, I've got a '95 LS 400 and the disc changer has started saying 'error 16'

Does anyone know what this means. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I arecently bought a 95 LS and also have the same problem. Error 16. My radio works when it wants. at times all speakers work and other times only the driver side works. Furthermore there are times when I can change the station.

I've read a few things in this forums i've noticed that some problems are caused by water getting into the trunk, amp getting wet, bad amp and other things. hey, if you find out anything let me know

 

There are a few threads on this. I had the same problem on my '95 and it needed to be rebuilt. I sent my unit to http://www.radiomanrepair.com/

Got in back in less than a week and worked great! The hard part was getting it out!

yeah my 91 ls400 would do the same thing.... and yeah it looks hard to take out..........

 

I recently found out what the problem was with my CD player. like i said before everytime tried using the CD player, error 16 would appear on the display. I bought new cd changer and they read Error 16. I just happend to flip the CD upside down and Wallah, It played the cd right away. So the problem was not the radi or Cd changer. I was putting the in the Cd's the wrong away all along. The CD's should go facing up intead of down like any other Cd player. I hope this helps.
