93 ls400 - ac common leak spots to check?
I've been putting in a can of 134 every few months now, so I am going to try locating the leak and replacing the components. What are the common areas to leak? I tried an ac leak sniffer but it didn't pick up anything. How well do the dyes work? Some work with a black light, others don't. Any suggestions?

I thought the better one would be with the blacklight. Try checking around the connections to the condensor itself. Hard to just see an AC leak. Honestly when it comes to AC work after a point where recharging is constant I would take it to a professional.

My 91 LS400 leaked from the gasket at the top of the compressor where the 2 lines are attached. I was told it is a pretty common leak spot. The gasket is only a few bucks. I have the equipment to fix it myself, however, if you don't, you need a professional to recover the freon. Also, I would have the flourescent dye added. It works great for finding leaks.

I added r134 with uv dye added and used the uv flashlight/yellow glasses. The water dripping from the evaporator easily shows the dye. I can't spot any other leaks near the compressor. Guess I am going to order up an evaporator and give this job a try.

I had the same problem as you did, recharging ac ever so often. Then i changed my evap and it's been working strong. Hope it's the same for you when you change your evap. Good luck
