greetings,

glad to be here with all the exterme fans of the beautiful machine called lexus. i got mine (a 1991 LS400) in 1998 with just over 80K miles on it. undoubtedly the silence inside was downright spooky.

at around 100K and after the big servicing, the sounds have not been as pleasing as they were. the engine noise has significantly increased and the acceleration power has become sluggish down so much that the V8 now feels like an inline-4 engine. also the shifting has become quite prominent and jerky.

i would appreciate it if any of the distinguished members here would give me pointers on the possible causes and remedies. as a friend of mine has rightly observed, i'm really ready to get down under the hood with the manuals and try to drive the noise down to where it once was.
