Be wary though. It feels like the LED wont fit. And it won't not without shaving the sides a little or forcing it in there like pulling teeth.

The circumference of the bulb holder is slightly smaller than the LED plastic replacement piece. It needs a little elbow grease and/or delicate "shaving" with a razor" to go in place.

I don't take any credit, props really go to http://www.lexls.com for setting me on the right path for coolness.
Hi avalon42,
since you are talking about the shifter area, may be you can help me about the loose shifter : shifter moves slightly to the left or right. The whole shifter feel like falling apart at P. Seems to me underneath the black cover, there must be something (bushing?) to station the shifter. Do you have any idea what is missing or broken to cause the shifter to move slightly to the left or right? Thank you.

Well, it depends, because I already answered you on this thread.

As for your question, when you say the shifter, are you talking about the **** itself, or the shaft that is moving left to right? Have you taken the cover off and examined the area yet?

Yep.. I know how that goes, fitting the LED in the starter bezel was the same story.

not the ****; but the shaft (or stem) that is moving left or right. I did check the lexls thread about installing the new shifter. I opened up wood cover but the black shifter cover assembly does not look the same as lexls pic. May be 1994 is different. lexls is 1990 - 1992 I think. any idea? thanks a lot for answering my question again.

He must be doing some modification to the circuit board and don't want you to know about it.

It's a clear electronic gel, insulates the board.

And why dig up an old thread that is like 3 years old?
