Default Just got my repaired LCD back...

...and I couldn't be happier. Work was done by J Eichmann out of Clovis, CA. I found him on Ebay, but decided to email him directly. He is professional: communicates whenever I email him, provides tracking and written documentation, and he guarantees his work with a TWO year warranty.

I sent my unit to him (since I'm near broke with these gas prices and can't afford a core charge) and he repaired it in under several hours and sent it out to me the following day. I also installed some blue LEDs (props to http://www.lexls.com), so I had a chance to look over some of his work. He cleaned and coated all the electrical boards in the unit. He even took some spare time to buff out several stubborn spots on the LCD face itself.

I'm so happy that my climate control is working again, and very pleased with my vendor of choice.

You have to unscrew all four screws of the actual shifter cover (the black part) and very carefully twist it loose. There is also a factory wire tie (which you made need to cut) to get more maneuverability.

I don't take any credit, props really go to http://www.lexls.com for setting me on the right path for coolness.

I'm definitely gonna hit him up. I talked to him earlier this month. Very professional and friendly.

I know the feeling! The blue looks great. I'm thinking about changing my colors just for the sake of having something new. I repaired my climate control LCD myself. Shoot I should just do it for people too. If anyone is in CA and wants it done, I'll do it for em! What are these guys charging? I'll charge less.

He charged me $155 shipped, that's for the labor to install and the actual LCD part. Of course, I think shipping was cheap because I'm in CA as well. I had to pay to ship the unit to him (only $11 bucks). He said that he would extend the same pricing to everyone that applied, but I think if you're out of state shipping may be slightly higher. I don't know but contact him and tell him avalon42 sent ya.

He also use a three stage plastic polisher for the LCD lens and the plastic face of the ac unit.

Definitely hit him up jjeichmann@yahoo.com and he takes PayPal also.

Lost which bulb, the new one or the one that was in there? Yeah, you have to be really careful. Did you cut the wire tie? That made it easier for me.

I would love to have mine repaired. I live in Sacramento and have a 1992 Lexus LS 400. Please let me know your price. Thanks, Alan

Hey Alan,

Sure no problem. I told pito the same thing, I'll do it for $50 + whatever the costs incurred are, which are shipping, and the cost of the part. I think I can get the LCD for about 80, and whatever shipping is to you (I'm estimating $10), so about $140.
