not going full ems isnt shortcutting if u dont need/wont be using the extra adjustment range. 10psi is what most agree the top end of the OE ecu's capability. iirc Lextreme ran 10-12psi on his turbo 1LS with the OEM ecu and a piggyback for a few years.

anything over that tho id agree and def. go full aftermarket.

With the timing advanced it's quite possible that at max horse power revs around 5600 RPM [ I'm not exactly sure at what revs max HP is?] it could make 40 HP more , from the searching I've done they are supposed to give a max increase of 25 Kw and that's well below what the mines ECU's for the GTR Nissan's and the Supra's make .
As an example I had to brake heaps harder for one corner as my speed was up by 20 KPH in the same distance as before , a definite improvement .
Have found a Mines ECU for a -93 Celsior that I'm planning to buy. One thing first. What kind of octane rating do you use on the fuel. On mine's homepage they say that their ECU's are set up for Japanese 100 octane fuel. Here in Sweden the highest octane rating on the fuel is normally 98 octane. I'm just asking because I'm worried about knocking. Had you have any problem?

each country has a different octane rating system. but im pretty sure u can use the 98 since its really not THAT big of a performance increase.

This is suited for UCF10-11, Lexus Ls400's and Toyota Celsior cars.
It suits the series 2 of these cars which was built between ~ 92.9 to 94.9.

Have fitted the Mine's ECU now and I'm very pleased with it. Haven't been possible to test how much the performance have improved because it's winter and winter here in the north of Sweden = icy and snowy roads. Kick down in 100 kph just activates the traction control. And if I turned the traction control off it gets a little bit to exciting...
But It feels like its definitely is stronger in the low and middle range and the response from the engine is improved to. And the downshifts are much faster. And the rev limit is extended to. Because of the bad traction I couldn't check if the performance is improved in the high range, but the wheels just keep spinning over 5000rpm so I guess it has.
Overall it was worth every penny, in this case 400$ with shipping. Bought it on ebay from rpmgarage (www.rpmgarage.com) who I really can recommend.
Going to give a better report when I have tested it for a longer time (and the traction has improved)

7250rpm? @#$%! that's high for a V8 especially a LS. That thing must fly.

Have been able to test the shifting points now with "the pedal to the metal" and it looks like it actually shifts a little bit earlier now (first gear to second) Around 5800rpm instead of 6000. But the shift i quicker and it feels like the car doesn't loses momentum during the shift from first to second gear as i did before. Haven't been able to clock the car but it definitely feels quicker 0-100kph (0-62 mph) then i did before. And the car pulls harder all the way to the shift point know. Overall, still very happy with the Mine's ECU.
