Since this old thread you no longer need the spacers,I found a way to bent the bars to fit and leave the engine cover on. Read some of the old thread below to understand what I am saying.

Personally, I like the look of the engine without the cover, but to each his own. If there is a JDM bar available for only $150 that lets you keep the cover I'd say go for it.
