99 LS400 updates: tint, staggered 18s, muffler delete/tips
Pics are medium quality due to camera, sorry.
New tips on straight pipes (rear mufflers are nixed)
Staggered 18s (18x8, 18x9.5), new tint (38% charcoal, legal limit in NC; looks good but I would've done darker)
You can see how much wider in this pic:
And YES I know everyone is gonna tell me to lower it...but I'm low on funds and I really don't want to jinx the ride quality at all. I would like to find a place locally to do a really good PC detailing; I've done the claybar/polish/wax thing by hand as far as I can, but I'd like to see if a really good detailing could eliminate some of the classic black car swirls and spiderwebs.
Now I've gotta red-out those orange taillights, that amber does not look good on a black car.

For the person that asked for the rear shot, for the muffler tips:
They are pretty subtle, but I don't mind the look
Ok, some better pics....those tops ones don't really do the car justice:
heheh just noticed the hummer truck and mustang GT lurking...
that's a single raindrop on the hood

One tip is to apply a very thin coat of Optimum Seal over NXT to seal in that look and increase durability. OS is great--wipe on, and walk away. No buffing, very quick.

I may have to try those. I've had good luck with regular meguiars, the only NXT product I've tried is the quick detailer. I liked the eagle one nanowax at first, but it is a huge pain to buff off of a non-clear coat car (or that's what I blame at least)

Looks good. Check out the detailing forum for how to use the PC. I just bought some good pads and stuf, but now my car is in the shop getting a new paint job.. so I haven't had time to try it out.

From what I've read the tanabe DF210 is a nice drop without too much ride quality sacrificed...I'm just not sure I wouldn't regret it, I really like the smoothness now.
I would definitely like to get it PC'd, but would rather have a pro do it; how much does that equipment run anyway?

Steve--not sure if you're experiencing the same lack of durability of the NXT polish as many others are. It sure does look great, though.

damn i am still contemplating whether or not to buy the same wheels as yours
I like the rims, just waiting on the center caps from the seller to complete them.
