This happen to me too.
I swapped out the idle control and it went away.
Also SRT TC that caused my car to lose idle too.
I took it out and my car runs fine again but I'm afraid the transmission is getting bad from the TC and I might have to replace it soon because it shifts very abruptly into 4 gear.

***RodLs, I got a rebuilt (all new oem parts except case)tranny under warranty in 2000 and it was close to $2500 complete with a 2 year 24K mile warranty. My car had about 85K at the time and the car was not shifting as a 400 should, it was determined to had a some bad internal part after they torn the case apart.

I can't believe that there are this many people in this limited forum with this exposure.
For the group here that have responded with the same problem, I can't help but realize that there are potentially thousands more that are also experiencing this same problem with their vehicles.
It would seem to me that a problem of this magnitude would have warranted a recall by the manufacturer.
I suggest you all check the recall history on your vehicles and see if there was a recall issued for this problem. I realize this would have been quite a few years ago, but it may have slipped the minds of Lexus service departments and you are entitled to a recall service repair.
It's just a thought, but this problem seems wide spread.
