I agree with you 100%
JDMCelsior - double check you have the right fluid. Don't just go by what they said is "okay".

my recco:
A-buy fluid wholesale (carson toyota or ur local dealership etc...)
B-take it to your lube place (avoid jiffylube >.>)
C-have htem flush manually using YOUR fluid.

I have a 91 Lexus and I started running Mobile one synthetic fluid in the trans at 57,000 and now have 189,000 miles and it shifts just great I have in the past always put in the mobil one in my Toyota's and gotten over 400,000 miles on the trannys. There is a drain plug on the trans pan and this is one way of changing the oil I recomened that you see a trans shop and have them drop the pan to see if any metal is in side if not you can buy mobil one synthetic trans fluid at pepboys or some other auto parts store and ask them to put in the mobil one. Rember when you drain the transmission pan you only get about 4 quarts of oil and still leave 7-8 quarts of oil in the converter that is still dirty I recommend that you drive the Lexus for about a few miles and ask the shop to just do a trans drain using the drain plug in the trans keeping down labor you want to see the transmission fluid nice and red not brown or black.

.....before anyone attempts that^ i recco that you call mobil's product hotline and ask them if theyl warranty anything if their fluid messes up ur trans. theyl tell u what they told me. (basically; No. We dont currently make a fluid that will work in any toyota transmission that requires Toyota Type II or IV fluids)
