Maybe it's cause your car is soooo JDM. LOL.

Check the fuel pump, may be some erratic wiring. I was gonna say TPS, but you say it sputters right?

Good luck man...that's a dangerous condition. Hope you get it solved.

I just had similar symptoms on my '93 this weekend. I was thinking either fuel pump or plug wires. I was wrong. It was the engine computer. Repair shop said my computer wouldn't even communicate with their engine analyzer.

Today i checked the FPR and it was dry, I checked the fuel filter and it appears to be in good order.

Could it be the fuel pump?

beels1: I hope is not my ECU cause that's going to suck. Where in TX are you? I'm moving to San Antonio in two weeks.

Definitely check the fuel pump next. The pump is also controlled by a computer so if the pump is not working you can manually override the computer to isolate the cause.

Thanks man, I just turned the car on and didn't hear any action coming from the FP, so tomorrow I will check for power and so forth. I hope this is my problem cause it sucks not having the LS running. Thanks again for the insight.

Alright guys, am about to buy a fuel pump to replace my stock one. What do you LS experts recommend? OEM FP cost $420+ and Autozone one cost $220. Is there a warbro FP out there for the 93 LS400?
thanks again guys!

Walbro is good, not sure if its a bolt-in but it wont be too difficult.

225 or 255 lb/hr?

I read it was a direct fit. the only difference is that the walbro has 2 power cables or something like that (lextreme). With your stamp of approval puredrifter, I will proceed to purchase this pump. It is 255lb/ hr. I bought on of these for my 240sx, I just wasn't sure about putting one in my LS. thanks again man!

Did you check and make sure it's not your fuel pump computer first? 1990-1994 is controlled by a computer.

To be honest, haven't cause the pump still in. I will take the pump out tomorrow, tested and if it works, I'm still replacing it with a new one. don't want to deal with it later down the road. The car has 210K miles after all. If it turns out to be the computer, how much am I looking to spend on it?

Pocket change if you get it at a salvage yard, as you should.

Sorry guys, but I just got done reading grand_ls 4 thread

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=266539

I think my car has the same symptoms and am afraid the main ECU could be teh main problem. Again, I will check my fuel pump tomorrow and if it works, then it works and I will still replace it. i will check the FP ecu for voltage and if its good to go, then it has to be the ECU. Let's hope its just the FP and not the ECU.

Also, will 90-92 ECU work in a 93 LS? And if you have an extra ECU, please save it for me in case I need it. I will buy it from you. thanks!
