Please help will my car die soon from Overheating
I recently noticed my car overheats to about 75% and becomes sluggish when climbing a grade close to my house, this only happens during the day when its hot, its almost 100 degrees, at night I doesnt being to overheat when climbing this grade.
The first thing I noticed when summer came and it got much hotter was that the coolant was leaking of the escape tube, but no overheating, I replaced the radiator cap and problem solved, no more leaking, however the low coolant light kept coming on.
As it got hotter I noticed every time I climb the grade my car overheats not fully though because I make it home. I think I'm running on water only since the coolant leaked out alot when the bad radiator cap was on.
What is wrong and do I need to
1. refill with coolant
2. clean radiator
3. take to mechanic
4. get a new car

If you suspect that you have less than a 50% coolant / 50% distilled water mix, then the first thing I would advise is to get that corrected by flushing and refilling the system completely with a 50/50 mix, and while you're at it, have the thermostat changed, do a system pressure test and also test the cap.
