Wheels again
This is a great site! I've spent the last few weeks reading all of the posts in the LS forum. Lots of good information. I'm currently shopping for a black '98 LS400. I'm pretty picky, so it may take a while, but as long as I have it by Spring. I'm not looking to add a body kit, change the exhaust, lower it, or any of that fun stuff, but I do think the factory wheels are a bit boring and would like something a bit more exciting. I want to keep the comfortable ride, so I'm thinking maybe 17" wheels and 245/50/17 Dunlop 5000s. (Why do the 17s cost more than double what the 16s cost?) I like the 5-star, split 5-star, and multi-star designs, but I'm not sure how they would look on the LS. I've read the discussions about not putting cheap wheels on a luxury car, and most of the wheels at the Discount Tire and Tire Rack websites that fit the LS either look cheap to me, or I don't like the looks. I also don't want to spend much over $2000 for them if possible. I would appreciate any links, pictures, advice, etc., to point me in the right direction. Since I haven't found the perfect car yet, I have time to research the wheels. I know the OZ Opera was mentioned as a decent inexpensive wheel, but it looks too much like the factory wheel to me.
I think this wheel posted by manaray in another thread looks good, but I have no idea how much is costs, who sells it, if ti's available in a 17", etc.
I don't care for the Mille Miglia he mentioned in the same thread though.
Thanks,
Q

I think it's a good looking wheel. With a 245-50-17 tire, should I go with the 17x8, 38mm offset, or the 17x8.5, 40, 41, or 44 mm offset?
Thanks,
Q

Thanks again gs4will
It was just another picture of the same wheel. The URL tags were messed up. Sounds like it could take months to get them. Thanks for the conversion rate too.
