Is the LS400 an old fart's car only? I have a 1996, and sometimes I feel like an old man. There is nothing remotely threatening or sporty about this car (as nice as it is), like the GS. What does everyone think?

I dont think it is an old fart's car at all. I love the quiet ride, luxurious interior, and presence that it portrays on the road. The only thing that kinda sucks is that I dont get very many looks from the younger crowd with this car as I did with my Legend LS. I now get checked out by males/females of the 40+ group. Oh well, I should start being more of a grown-up at 31 and steer away from driving any more "ricey" vehicles in the future, but to each his own.

No, it's just a stereotype that really doesn't make any sense.
A young person should be able to enjoy a quiet car, with a soft, luxurious ride just as much as a sporty car, at least for those who are capable of thinking independently & not bow to silly stereotypes & peer pressure (you are not supposed to drive dad's car etc.) If you like it, there's no reason you can't drive one.
