Very cool mix of old and new tech there - torsion bars and electromagnetic linear actuators working together. Allows for things to fit well, simple, and I bet they can give good performance.
I can see that the current prevalence of electric cars means those actuators will now have plenty of power available, which may have made this tech not practical 20 years ago, but ready for primetime today.
