Radio Probs - Audio Weak - FM Fades away
Anybody know what causes the Pioneer Prem snd radio on a 1993 LS 400 to provide weak volume audio on FM for about the first 10-minutes, then have it totally fade away? The AM signal is also weak, but at least it continues to work. I have two of these vehicles and the radios both suffered the same prob within 3-weeks of one another. Look for some help here!! Thanks in advance for the input.

It sounds to me, and keep in mind this is just a guess, that there could be a loose/poor contact inside the radio. As time passes with the radio on, it heats up and thermal expansion "fixes" the loose connection. I'm not sure if it would be the head unit or the amplifier causing this.

Thanks, SonyMan. I hadn't thought about internal radio probs. I was leaning toward the antenna amp causing the dilemma. My main frustration here is that both of my 93s developed the same symptoms about the same time. BTW, one of my 93's is the same color combo as yours
