did you ACTUALLY check it, or are you saying it becuase you changed it last month?

it could just be your oil pressure sender.

no.... i've checked, level is good.......when this first started happining, it would stay on with all the other idiot lights, then flicker on and off, then go off. as time goes by it got worse, now I start light goes off like before and then comes back on and stays on...........sometimes I can make it flicker by turning hard to the right or left, when driving.

Louis

P.S. seems like it got worse with the cold weather.......or maybe thats just me.

Usually when the oil pressure is bad, the light will come on once the motor is warmed up and oil gets thinner.
I doubt thats the case, but I would have my oil pressure checked.

Is there some kind of oil pressure switch.....thats easy enough to change?.....or is it easier and cheaper to check oil pressure?

Arn't there any Tech (Lexus Gear Head) guys on this forum?......Looking for the BIG GUNS input.......but of course I'm grateful for any advise.

Thanks,
Louis

So it's the red oil light, not the yellow one?

I would sea foam the engine and then change the oil to remove any possibility of crud blocking the sender. Then check to make sure the wiring is good .

Search the forum for sea foam for explanations and examples. It's a popular additive/treatment.

very surprised no one said ......." hey if your oil pressure light is on, your oil pump may be going bad"........

I've checked out this sea foam additive looks pretty good for cleaning internals, so I guess we'll see what happens.

any other input would be greatly apprieciated

Thanks,
Louis
