Default Driving to Vancouver from SF this friday. Any tips?

Hello. I am intersted to know whether any of the members have tried driving by I5 from the Bay Area California to Vancouver Canada in winter with LS400. I certainly checked threads concerning driving in snow with an RWD and would like to know any additional opinions. According to wheather forecast, it'll be sunny this friday. 4pm will be our Estimated Departure Time.
Would really appreciate any opinions or advice. Anyway, i got a '91 LS400 and it drives really comfy compared to our '99 camry.

No snow up in Vancouver for now, but you never know, we usually get only a few days of snow a year tops . . .

Carry chains or cables. The section between Redding and Medford can get pretty nasty, and you don't want to get turned around just because you have no traction devices.

Thanks very much! The mountains in northern califronia is acutally one of my concerns. With the recent storm and the coming storm, it might just bring a lot of snow. Also this morning, my car spun out hitting the truck at my right while we're turning left. I think mostly because of wet roads, aggravated by the RWD of LS. I think i'll just have to drive my camry.

thanks again for the tips.

I drove from Seattle to San Francisco and back on I-5 during Thanksgiving. I thought the trickiest part was through the winding roads of Northern Cal and Oregon. Some very foggy area that reduced my visibility to almost just 2feet ahead of the car, very intense. So drive very slowly and turn on all lights (including fog light) when you hit those dense fog patches.
