Really Need Advice on Exhaust Leak
1990 LS400 with an exhaust leak in the "pipe assembly, exhaust, front" lexus part # 17410-50021...a whopping 460.00 retail price...This is a Y pipe that comes off the 2 front cats and ends with a connected 3rd cat? (resonator?) What are my options? TIA!

I'd rather not replace the entire system as it seems to be in good shape...And i'm cheap I've attached a scan of where the leak is (marked red) under the protective shield...What is connected to the rear of this pipe...cat,resonator? Any suggestions for repair other than replacing this @ a cost of 350.00 (that's the Lexus discouted price) for the part only...Do you think it can be repaired based on the location?

I will investigate the option of having it patched...The hole seems to be located towards the back of the pipe under the protective shield (had the car on a lift and could feel air sputtering out) I wonder if that will cause any issues with a patch.

I posted in the classified section but though it wise to post here and see if anybody has this pipe lying around...most likely someone who modified their exhaust and has no need for this part...Anybody?

if they can't weld it due to rust, you're proably stuck either with buying a neew pipe or having a dual set up made. i don't know of anyone who can make a y pipe like that at an exhaust shop without charging about what it would cost for a new one. it's just a bad spot to have a hole!
