If that is possible, can an amp fit where the old Pioneer amp was? I know that the pioneer amp is located underneath the passenger seat. Please let me know. Thanks.
How is you project going? I may want to do the same.

Dashan,

LOL...not great! I wanted to keep the factory radio but change the amp and speakers. From the advice of some members, they said that I can't use the factory cd changer without the factory amp. I already have the 4 speakers and the subwoofer. So I probably will just change the those first. My problem is how will install look with an aftermarket cd changer in the place of the factory unit? The factory changer seems just right and snug with the Lexus woods trim over it. Sorry, I'm a lazy guy....LOL

En, what was being said to you about this is that you cant TOTALLY get rid of the factory amp, as the factory CD changer will not work without it. What you can do is keep that amp, but tap into the connections to bypass it with an aftermarket amp to put out more power. I did this with my factory radio, bypassed the factory amp with an aftermarket one and am powering all new door speakers and 2 12's in the trunk. I still have my factory HU. The only thing that I ran into by doing this was the HU doesnt put out all that much power and your amp will have to compensate. I have a lil 600 watt amp and Because I am powering so much with it, mine has a tendency to overheat; especially when the weather is really hot. I plan to redo my system at a later date.

Post Dimensions of the Factory Pioneer Amp for 96LS?

Hi,

Any member out there who happens to know the measurements (dimensions) of the factory Pioneer Amp for the 96LS? I'm trying to see if a mono amp will fit in the same spot which is underneath the passenger seat. There is a plastic vent piece that covers part of the amp to help it breath/cool better. Let me know guys. Thanks again.

Bump.

Has anyone put an aftermarket amp under the driver or passenger seat?

Thanks

i wanted to put an aftermarket amp under the passenger seat. but it seems like to much of a small room to play with. i think your best shot would be somethin like
http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...odel=PDX-4.100
but i dunno with the heater vents and everything there. not much clearance happening i would be scared to see that thing burn out. so i just went with my eclipse amp and mounted it in my trunk :]
