Not to hijack the thread any more but unless you take the strut out of the car you can't see the actual groove(s). This is because there is an aluminum collar like Pure said where the spring sets on top of. The actual grooves are about 1/4" away from each other but end up lowering the vehicle up to 1" more when set at the lower groove. I bet your shop installed the springs using the top groove just like mine. I have changed mine multiple times since I did not want to pay labor to have them do it. Like Pure said, you must remove the strut/spring and use a spring compressor to remove the spring. I have done it enough that I can swap the fronts in less than 45 minutes. When you move the snap ring to the lowest groove it lowers the car more but makes it softer since the spring rate changes. (I recall Chubby had a thread showing a pic of the grooves before he bagged his LS)
