Default 95 LS 400 Shaved trunk

I used to have gold emblems and recently painted them black since I was not too hip on the gold. In December I used a valet service and they trashed my rear bumper. It all worked out well since I got it repainted and had them shave the trunk. Since I don't know how to post multiple photos - I will post one at a time.

I hope these photos will help those of you thinking about removing the emblems. I had mine painted black and really liked them. Since getting the trunk shaved cost around $200 (weld holes), I probably would not have done it if it were not for the valet service. Here's the finished job:

Can't ignore the front - I recently blacked out the entire grill. This will do until I find an acceptable after market one:

They the ebay ones?

Man, I'm not sure whether it was a good or bad thing the valet service trashed your rear bumper...but at least they shaved your trunk lid as part of the package. Awesome.

The tails are from Ebay. I bought them from a guy in Houston with a first gen though. He paid $150 shipped. My old ones were JDM and these are identical in looks. So far they haven't leaked - quality is good but nowhere near the JDM's For the money they are just fine.

Please lemme know Pure - the grill is the last mod for this car and I am looking forward to trashing the OEM. I can get one from MemoryFab however I don't want to spend $500 on this car.

I like the shaved look. IMHO, all cars should have an option to have no emblems at all. The car looks so much cleaner without emblems on them.

Hmm, I do like the shaved look a lot, but the grill...not so much.

What wheels do you have on there? I like them a lot.

Shaved looks nice. Good originality points, and I agree badges should not be applied to the car, or at the very least options of what badges, if any, should be had at the dealership.

For instance, on my 94' LS 400 -- I have the Silver Lexus emblem to the left, and on the right is there an 'LS 400' emblem? NO! Heh, the dealership apparently took every opportunity to advertise and put 'Williams' in matching emblematic form instead.

That should almost be illegal. I'm already annoyed at the front tag being 'tom williams lexus' and the tag cover being tom williams lexus.. But a badge on the car replacing the car model?

Now if I ever want to do anything about it I'll have to have minor/major body work done to shave that 'williams' emblem and repaint etc.

I don't suppose I have any alternative do I? Perhaps the LS400 Emblem would 'cover up' the old emblem , if possible to remove with just glue. (I'm sure it is).
